Franco-Iranian visual artist born in Tehran, I grew up in a context deeply marked by censorship permeating cultural and artistic spheres. From an early age, I was confronted, as an artist, with political restrictions as well as with the forms of resistance, courage, and resilience they generate.
Now based in Paris, France, where I continue my path as a multidisciplinary artist-researcher, my work has developed within a space freed from such censorship. My practice is rooted both in my personal history and in the collective memory of Iran, while engaging with broader contemporary issues that extend beyond this context.
Through photography, video, performance, and painting, I explore the tensions between the intimate and the political, femininity and taboo, identity and exile, as well as the complex relationships between memory and forgetting. Each medium responds to an inner necessity: painting emerges from contemplation, while performance arises from the urgency of the gesture.
Video and photography extend the real and the living, becoming a sensitive threshold through which I fully enter my work.
The body occupies a central place in my artistic research, often my own body, used as a space of inscription, resistance, and narration. The naked body, the wounded body, the wrapped body, or the disappearing body becomes at once witness, territory, and language.
Sensitive to nature, animal well-being, and our relationship with the living world, I also explore in some projects the fragile beauty of nature while revealing the imbalances caused by human activity.
I conceive my work as a voice and a space of paradox where fragility and power, darkness and light coexist, sustained by a persistent vital force.
Démarche artistique
Artiste visuelle franco-iranienne née à Téhéran, j’ai grandi dans un contexte profondément marqué par la censure qui traversait les sphères culturelles et artistiques. Très tôt, j’ai été confrontée, en tant qu’artiste, aux interdictions politiques, mais aussi aux formes de résistance, de courage et de résilience qu’elles suscitent.
Installée en France, à Paris, où je poursuis aujourd’hui mon parcours d’artiste-chercheuse multidisciplinaire, mon travail s’est développé dans un espace libéré de cette censure. Ma pratique s’ancre à la fois dans mon histoire personnelle et dans mémoire collective de l’Iran, tout en dialoguant avec des enjeux contemporains qui dépassent ce contexte.
À travers la photographie, la vidéo, la performance et la peinture, j’explore les tensions entre l’intime et le politique, la féminité et les tabous, l’identité et l’exil, ainsi que les relations complexes entre mémoire et oubli. Chaque médium répond à une nécessité intérieure : la peinture naît de la contemplation, tandis que la performance surgit de l’urgence du geste.
La vidéo et la photographie prolongent le réel et le vivant, devenant une porte sensible par laquelle j’entre pleinement dans mon travail.
Le corps occupe une place centrale dans ma recherche artistique, souvent mon propre corps, utilisé comme un espace d’inscription, de résistance et de narration. Corps dénudé, corps blessé, corps enveloppé ou corps disparu : il devient à la fois témoin, territoire et langage.
Sensible à la nature, au bien-être animal et à notre relation au vivant, j’explore également dans certains projets la beauté fragile du monde naturel, tout en révélant les déséquilibres provoqués par l’activité humaine.
J’envisage mon travail comme une voix et un espace de paradoxe où coexistent fragilité et puissance, obscurité et lumière, ainsi qu’une force vitale persistante.
